called USAA monday night to get a homeowners insurance quote - i was shocked that it's only going to run us about $50 a month! seemed like a deal to me, although we are only paying about $15 right now for renters coverage, so... technically that's like a 350% increase or something... but still!
home loan seems to be going well so far - i checked in with our loan officer yesterday, just to make sure that all of our application paperwork was received, and to see what else we needed to do. seems that right now, everything is in order! we just keep anticipating that 'hiccup' - the rough patch or fire drill during this whole process... hasn't happened yet... only about 3 weeks to go until escrow closing...
