you have to love the nhl! what's better than a bunch of big sweaty hairy guys wearing 10-20 pounds worth of pads and gear, pushing, shoving, fighting, and carrying sticks?! (wow, now that i wrote that down, it sounds like (minus the gear), i might have a thing for cave men - lol) but i do love a good hockey game, especially when i get to watch it from great seats, rooting for either team to win, and sitting behind a former nhl player!
the phoenix coyotes hosted the philadelphia flyers at home last night, playing a tied game through the first couple periods, and winning 3-1 in the final minutes of the 3rd period. sadly, there were no fights, but i was able to admire my favorite coyote, captain shane doan, as well as a couple of former coyotes (now flyers) "baby" breiere and hot-head, carcillo. we had great seats in the 7th row, just to the right of the home-team bench, and in front of us was a really nice guy, garrett burnett (who used to play for the philadelphia phantoms, and for the anehiem ducks!), and he was chatting tim up last night like they were old friends.
even though the flyers lost, everyone had a great time and enjoyed a fast-paced, energy-filled game!
go 'yotes!
