so i just realized that in my week of illness (still TBD) and my mother-induced panic about dying of swine flu, i have not posted any comments! wow - and i was doing so well with updating my mundane musings about... well - let's be honest - nothing, really.
i went to the doc last week, and she took a flu test, which concluded negative, but couldn't really tell me if i had a cold, or bronchitis, or sinusitis, or what. this is how i translated it: "you don't have the flu, no green mucus, so suck it up and no Rx for you!" (if i was smart, i would have taken my [nurse] friend, emily's advice, and bought theraflu, but i wasn't, and i never made it to the store... that probably would have helped.) so for the last several days i have been trying to intake fluids and vitamin c like it's going out of style, convincing myself nightly that doctor knows best, that i do not have h1n1, that i will wake up in the morning, and hopefully feel better soon! so this morning, i woke up, and realized i was feeling better. not best, but definitely better :) and poor tim has been consistently amazing, taking care of me, and convincing me that i am not dying, even though some nights i really felt like it. seriously. oh, and to top it off, someone i work with just found out yesterday she's got the flu - i hope it's not the swine... i don't need any more health-related trepidation.
i got an email today that had a funny anecdote in it (not sure who wrote it), but it reminded me of my panicked behavior this week:
one out of four people in this country is mentally unbalanced, so think of your three closest friends, and if they seem okay... then you're the one.
so, if i'm in your top three - don't worry! it's not you - it's me.
