already overwhelmed

it's barely been a few days since tim popped the question, and already we are both getting slightly overwhelmed. tim is a little freaked out because i already bought a wedding magazine. i couldn't help myself! i was at the drug store picking up some soap and toilet paper, and happened to walk by the magazine isle... so i got one. and i am realizing quickly that there is a lot more to a wedding than a dress and an awesome party/reception. (like choosing photographers, and flowers, and food, and cake, and if we need to hire separate vendors or are they included, and what about chairs & tables, and linens, and registries, and how many people can we invite, and an officiant, and music, and..., and..., and...)
we went today to look at a couple of venues. i know it may seem a bit soon, but if we want to get married in the next 12-16 months, we've got to start looking now so that we can lock-in a good date for the big day! once we have a location picked out, we can breath easy for a few months before having to start the rest of the planning. no secure plans yet, but we are hoping for a fall event.

thanks to my parents for a nice evening out on friday, being the first of our close family and friends to congratulate us in person - we love you!
