that's a real calendar observance...

i was getting ready to comment on ben's blog about the 19th being national talk like a pirate day, because tim had told me that it was on friday, but when i googled it, ben was, in fact, correct. and here are some other interesting observances from the 19th of september this year:
boys & girls club day for kids
national POW/MIA recognition day
talk like a pirate day
big whopper liar day
international eat an apple day
international coastal cleanup day
national seat check saturday
responsible dog ownership day
rosh hashanah
and - my favorite: wife appreciation day
whose job is it to come up with these sorts of things?! (i need that job) and not only do multiple organizations, causes, and religions share days like these, there are weekly and monthly observances too! here's a link if your interested.
