i am an assistant manager

this week and last have been so busy at work - i haven't had much time for anything else, it seems. i worked nearly 8 hours of overtime last week, and this week i am creeping up to 5, and that's with a day off this week! oh yeah, and effective saturday, january 30, i am an assistant manager.
i don't feel different, i don't work different (yet...), i don't act different, but i work with different people, in a new location, i don't know where anything is filed, and i am no longer in control of the items i was before. this is kind of trippy. and to put a cherry on top, my manager told me today at noon, that she is on vacation friday and saturday, so... i am "officially in-charge." oy. this isn't what i signed up for?! is it??
in other news, the wedding is now 261 days away. that's 8 months, 2weeks, 5 days. wow. this is going by so quickly! and while i am super excited to get married, it's also kind of fun being engaged, except that strangers seem to take a politely, but all too happy interest in your personal affairs, and feel the necessity to tell you their life story (which is sometimes more entertaining than annoying). i even had someone tell me how much she loved planning her wedding, and getting married - only to follow it up with "until we got divorced." really?! come on, lady! that's not really the sort of story i am interested in hearing while i am preparing to be wed (not like her story changes anything, but still - it's the principle of it!).
anyways, that's about all for now.
oh! and i had a blast hanging out with my miss emily and her crew on the 30th - we celebrated her last weeks as a 'bachelorette' with a spa day and girly night - i can't wait for her wedding march 5!
